Standard Process Whole Food Supplements
I am now prescribing whole food supplements in addition to Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture, because these whole food supplements are a natural way of correcting specific system malfunctions that are due to poor nutrition, or poor assimilation of the nutrients that are taken in. They can also target each endocrine gland (thyroid, adrental, etc.) specifically. These supplements complement Chinese Medicine perfectly.
Mega doses of vitamins and supplements are not necessary. It's the quality of the ingredients, not the amounts.

I also prescribe some animal glandulars, usually bovine, for endocrine and organ repair. These animal glands are USDA approved, which, in my opinion, means nothing, except for the fact that Standard Process inspects all ranches they purchase the glands from and transform them in their own plant. They have microbiologists on staff full time to inspect every shipment for any pathogenic materials.

Standard Process has been around for 70 years. Their farm and manufacturing plant is in Wisconsin. They grow the foods, following strict organic requirements for soil, harvest those vegetables and transform them into the supplements that are prescribed by licensed healthcare practitioners only. They are processed in such a way so as to preserve all of the live enzymes, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, known and unknown, inherent in the plant source; thus the description as "whole" food.
Standard Process does use calcium and/or magnesium stearates as a lubricant to release the pill from the tablet machine or in filling the capsule. The searates used (an isolated component derived from a food source) are made from Palm oil, not a cheaper oil that has toxic consequences for the human body (elevated cholesterol levels, free radicals). Because of the processing methods and very small amounts used, they do not have a significant negative effect.
Standard Process also isolates some components of plants (i.e. the ascorbic acid from the vitamin C complex) to augment to efficacy of the product being taken, because Standard Process supplments are used to treat today's sometimes complex health conditions. If these isolates were not added, the amount of pills that would have to be taken would be prohibitive to compliance.
